Our Mission
To assist the home school family with a traditional education for grades 6-12, while maintaining values and morals of home life.
Our Goal
To work in partnership with the home school family for all home school needs.
Home School Teachers
Our dedicated teachers are state certified teachers that are experienced in their field of study. Teachers guide the instruction and students demonstrate mastery using our state of the art technology based curriculum.
Home school teachers provide guided instruction in a classroom setting 2-days per week while parents extend guidance at home on the students distance learning days.
Standardized Testing
Sarah Paterson Dual Credit Academy uses The iOWA Test of Basic Skills as a diagnostic tool each year to map student progress. This test is for 5th grade, 8th grade, 10th grade, & 12th grade students. Test orders start in January; test is administered in April.
Standardize testing, especially for home schooled students, validates the home school program and gives other entities, such as colleges, a concrete measure for academic ability. Testing is optional although highly recommended and a testing fee of $30 per student will apply.
More test information will be given as date nears.
National Home School Honor Society
Sarah Paterson Dual Credit Academy will apply for a local charter to the National Home School Honor Society. To qualify students must have:
A test score of 1800 (SAT) or 26 (ACT) or 180 (PSAT) or a 90% on the composite/complete battery on the IOWA test. A Stanford nationally normed standardized achievement tests is required for membership. All tests must be administered in a group setting. Parent administered tests are not acceptable.
Additional Requirements
3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale. Students must maintain a 3.5 GPA per year.

Record Keeping
Report Cards are sent electronically per semester
If a student withdraws during the school year before credit is issued, credit may be loss due to incomplete semester. We encourage students to complete an entire semester or the entire year to successfully earn credit.
The online curriculum grades each assignment as students complete them. Each month students will receive a grade report of all grades.
Parents can pick-up grades in the main office or can be given to the student with parent permission in writing.
Transcripts
Provided upon request and upon high school graduation. All transcript requests must be in writing by the student or parent, please give the office at least 2 week notice to prepare There is a $5.00 charge for official transcripts, students would receive 2 per order. Once a student graduates from Sarah Paterson Academy the electronic record remains on file for (7) seven years, after which becomes microfilmed in our catalog of graduates for a life time.

The home school administrator will provide make up policies.
